The mission of St. Luke N.E.W. Life Center is to empower men and women to become self-sufficient through life skills, education, and workplace training. Creating the Lawn Care business allows us to provide ongoing workplace training while program participants earn a real wage and gain work experience in a supportive and nurturing environment. Our businesses operate as a Social Enterprise, where good business practices are combined with a greater social objective and our bottom line is to make a difference in the lives of our employees and the Flint community.

During the summer of 2014 we provided nonstructural blight elimination to the Civic Park Neighborhood, along with lawn care services to area businesses.
Keeping our neighborhoods looking good is important to us and the community. This year we are offering you the opportunity to become involved by sponsoring lawn care and clean-up for each empty lot in our area.
While creating a cleaner and safer community, we are also expanding our mission by creating jobs for the men in our program.
Sponsorships are $100 per lot for the season. We encourage individuals and businesses to take part in our program. Your sponsorship keeps our program successful. Call us at 810-239-8710 if you would like to become a sponsor.
The Lawn Care Business of St. Luke N.E.W. Life Center was started in June of 2014 to meet the growing need for economic development in the Flint community. Following the success of the Sewing Business and the opportunities that it granted women in need of work, the Founders made it their mission to expand that same blessing to the local men.
For the first time in the organization's history, we began to offer an Employment Preparation program for structurally unemployable men in the community. The response was overwhelming and the Lawn Care business began to provide hands on training while cleaning up the surrounding neighborhoods.
The first summer months were spent providing nonstructural blight elimination to the Civic Park Neighborhood and completing several commercial contracts. St. Luke N.E.W. Life Center is looking forward to a promising second year of lawn care. We are dedicated to creating jobs while creating a cleaner and safer community.
